Curious about Tower Crossing in The Glen?

August 28, 2018 by Margaret Ludemann

“Admit it.  You’re curious.”  So said the sign draped over the Optima condo complex in Skokie.  The building looks like it’s all glass, and indeed whenever I drove on I-94, I was curious.

The same goes for a terrific neighborhood in The Glen (in Glenview, Illinois, called Tower Crossing.  The development is adjacent to Glen Town Center’s many shops and restaurants.  There are 154 four-story Georgian brick townhomes in Tower Crossing, and as a homeowner I’ve seen countless people stare at these wonderful homes with obvious curiosity.  They don’t look like most townhomes.  First of all, they are huge, ranging in size from 3031 sq ft to 4105 sq ft.  Much larger than most townhomes! And the brick designs of the six models are creative and quite different than any townhome complex I’ve ever seen.

One day I was sitting on my front porch when a passerby asked me what level of my home I live on.  Huh?  I explained that the entire home was a single unit.  She didn’t believe me.  She speculated whether each townhome had three or four apartment units.  I explained that every Tower Crossing property, regardless of model, was a single unit with four stories.  She said I was wrong.  Even though I’ve lived in my townhome for 15 years, and as a Realtor who has sold more Tower Crossing homes than any other realtor, I explained that I knew everything about every model…and all were individual homes. For some reason she couldn’t get her brain around that one.

While many people are curious about Tower Crossing, my neighbors and I know that this is a great place to live.  Our homes are beautiful inside and out.  Most have three bedrooms, though some have two and others have four.  We can walk easily and quickly to all of The Glen’s restaurants, shops, Arclight Cinema and the local Metra train station.  It’s kind of like urban living, but in the suburbs with great schools and easy access to downtown Chicago and O’Hare airport.

If you, like so many people who walk around my neighborhood, are curious, let me show you some of the homes that are for sale or rent.  Tower Crossing prices range from in the $600’s to over $800,000.  Just send me an email at margaretludemann@gmail.com or call me at 847-401-1802

Tap, Tap, Tap – Kids in The Glen

August 22, 2018 by Margaret Ludemann

At first, I heard what sounded like tapping.  I was walking from my Glen home in the Tower Crossing neighborhood near Glen Town Center to Your Pie, the neighborhood pizza joint.  As I got a little closer to Glen Town Center the tapping sounded more like knocking.  I looked to the right, and by now the tapping/knocking had become pounding.  And then I saw her.  A little girl seemingly attacking the front door of Funtopia, a children’s indoor playhouse of sorts.  She wanted in!  It was nearly time to open, and she just couldn’t wait!

So, why do I tell you this?  Well, because The Glen in Glenview Illinois is a fun place for kids to grow up and have fun in a safe environment.  We have beautiful neighborhoods with upscale homes, numerous restaurants, great shopping…and a lot of cool stuff for our children.  In addition to Funtopia, you’ll find Kohl Children’s Museum filled with all kinds of activities for younger kids.  At Color Me Mine creativity and fun reign.  It’s a paint your own pottery fantasy land where kids with their parents or pals select a piece of pottery, paint whatever they want on it, then come back a few days later after the store has fired it up to create a one of a kind masterpiece.  Glen Town Center is also a place for ice cream and the movies.  The Glen also offers parks, playgrounds, sports fields and much more.

For kids and parents alike, living in The Glen is about as good as it gets.  We have single family homes, townhomes, row homes, duplexes, two-flats and condos.  Home prices range from the $300’s to $2 million.  I’m a very fortunate Glen homeowner, and my husband and I have raised our son here.  If you may be interested in this kind of wonderful living for your family, please email me atmargaretludemann@gmail.com or call me at 847-401-1802.  I am a top producing Realtor living in and focusing my practice in The Glen.

Cool stuff happening in The Glen

July 24, 2018 by Margaret Ludemann

Living in The Glen (in Glenview Illinois) means having a lovely home, wonderful restaurants within walking distance, great shopping, Landmark Cinema and fun activities.  As I’ve said so often about The Glen…it’s about the lifestyle.  Glen Town Center is the hub of Glen living.  It’s a shopping, dining and entertainment mecca.  Today I want to tell you about the entertainment coming to GTC over the next few weeks.

The Summer Sounds series continues with outdoor music provided by terrific bands.  These are Tuesday evening events where residents (and others) can bring a blanket and have a picnic while enjoying the entertainment.  On July 31st Tainted Jack will perform, followed by Rico on August 7th.  Future performances will include, The Windy City Rev Up, Libido Fund Circus and the Victor Brown Band.

On August 2nd, the Story Time at The Book Market program continues with a 10:30 a.m. event for kids.  Children’s author Patricia Murphy will take the kids on a fun journey through interactive numbers, shapes, stories and activities.

The annual Art at The Glen extravaganza is scheduled for the weekend of August 4 & 5 when scores of artists will be on hand showing off (and selling) their marvelous works of art.

And on August 11th the Glen’s Puppet Theater Series will enthrall kids with a show titled Three Billy Goats Gruff, presented by The Creventive (not a typo) Puppet Company.

So, please join Glen residents for one or more of these great entertainment events.  And if this is the kind of lifestyle you want for your family, give me a call at 847-401-1802.  I am an award-winning Realtor and long time Glen homeowner.  I would be delighted to show you the various Glen neighborhoods filled with upscale housing including single family homes, townhomes, row homes, duplexes, two-flats and condos.  Home prices range from the high $300s to over $2 million.  You can also reach me by email at MargaretLudemann@gmail.com.

Gallery Park makes living in The Glen even better

July 18, 2018 by Margaret Ludemann

The Jewel of the Nile is a movie with Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner.  It’s also an album by Nice & Smooth.  The Jewel of the Seas is a cruise ship.  Well, The Glen, a residential and retail development in Glenview Illinois, is not the Nile or a movie or a song or a ship…but we do have a jewel.  It’s called Gallery Park, smack dab in the middle of The Glen, for all to see, and all to enjoy.

Gallery Park was developed along with The Glen about 17 years ago, and it is a beloved spot for locals like me.  It is huge, and it offers so much.  There is a lovely lake (Lake Glenview) with fishing allowed in season.  It also has walking and jogging trails, soccer fields, and tennis courts.  When my son was a tyke he enjoyed Little Bear Garden and the water spray area.

The award-winning Glenview Park Center is located adjacent to the park, providing basketball courts, an indoor track, swimming, a water park, pre-school and a tremendous fitness center.

There are many great reasons to live in The Glen.  Gallery Park is but one of them.  We have lovely single family homes, townhomes, row homes, duplexes, two-flats and condos.  We have many to choose from right now.  And Glen Town Center’s restaurants and shops are walking distance from most anywhere in The Glen.  If you may want to live in The Glen, please give me a call at 847-401-1802.  I am an award-winning Realtor and long time Glen homeowner.
