My husband and I walked over to The Glen Club for dinner last night. It’s an easy walk, about half the length of a football field, from our Tower Crossing townhome, one of nine neighborhoods in The Glen. I noticed banners announcing a major golf tournament, so asked about it in the clubhouse. I learned that the new Evans Scholars Invitational Tournament begins today and runs through May 26. This is a Web.com tour, and it is being managed by the Western Golf Association (WGA).
The Glen Club hosts major PGA tournaments including the BMW Championship each year, and they bring a lot of excitement to our neighborhood. This award-winning club was designed by renowned golf course architect Tom Fazio. The tournament will raise money for college tuition and housing scholarships for deserving caddies across the country. Nearly 1000 Evans Scholars are currently enrolled at 18 universities.
The Glen Club is one of two golf courses in The Glen. The other is the Glenview Prairie Club, a beautiful 9-hole course, also a short walk from most any home in The Glen. The Westgate at The Glen residential neighborhood borders both clubs. Golf is but one of the wonderful advantages of living in The Glen. Our “main street”, called Glen Town Center boasts scores of terrific restaurants and upscale shops and boutiques. Battery Park is also located in The Glen with a lake, walking and jogging trails, tennis courts and playgrounds.
This is an incredible place to live. We have single family homes, townhomes, row homes, duplexes, two-flats and condos. Home prices range from the $400s to over $2 million. If this sounds like the kind of neighborhood you would enjoy living in, please give me a call. I am an award-winning Realtor and long time Glen homeowner.
