Each year a census is done of The Glen by the Village of Glenview. The new census was released recently, and it is very interesting reading. Here are the highlights:
- There are 2,446 homes in The Glen.
- 5,545 people live in the 14 Glen neighborhoods, 10 of which have privately-owned homes of many varieties including single family homes, townhomes, row homes, duplexes, two-flats and condos.
- Of the 5,545 residents, 1,304 are children. 1,036 Glen kids are enrolled in schools, the others are not yet of school age.
- 85% of Glen children are enrolled in Glenview’s award-winning public schools grades K – 12; that’s 885 kids. 15% of the school-aged children are in non-public schools; that’s 151.
The Glen is a wonderful place to live. Home prices range from the high $300s to over $2 million. Our Glen Town Center offers great places to eat, shop and be entertained. We have our own Metra stop which gets residents to the Loop in 30 – 45 minutes depending on time of day. And we’re under a half hour to O’Hare International Airport.
