In the “so much to do in The Glen” department, my family and I had a great time Saturday flying kites. We didn’t know there was a Glen kite flying party Saturday, but from our home we could see scores of them flying high over Gallery Park. So we walked over (you can walk to the park from anywhere in The Glen) to get a better look.
It turns out that kites were provided free of charge to use for the afternoon. My son selected one he really liked, and we had a great family time. I snapped this photo of a mom with her kids flying a fun yellow kite which really stood out against the pretty blue sky. Incidentally, that’s Attea Middle School in the background.
I’ve told so many prospective home buyers that our community is very family friendly, and there are so many fun things to do. Gallery Park offers miles of trails for walking, jogging and biking as well as tennis courts, playgrounds, soccer fields, fishing in Lake Glenview, and swimming at the Park Center. And all of it is an easy walk from every home in The Glen. If you prefer a game of golf, try The Glen Club’s 18 hole championship golf course designed by Tom Fazio. If you prefer something less demanding, there is Glenview 9 just across the street.
