The public high school serving students living in The Glen and greater Glenview is award-winning Glenbrook South High School. Over the years it has received many awards for its excellence in educating area students from grades 9 through 12. In fact, only two years ago software company Niche, using data from the U.S. Department of Education, analyzed and compared American high schools and named GBS the 30th best public high school in the country and the #1 high school for extracurricular activities.
Recently, GBS received yet another award. It has been named a Project Lead The Way Distinguished School. The award recognizes its successful efforts to increase student access, engagement, and achievement in its computer science, biomedical science and engineering program. This is the second consecutive year that GBS has been recognized for this achievement.
As a Glen homeowner and parent of a GBS senior, I am very proud of our local high school. In fact, the quality of area schools is the very reason why my family chose to move to The Glen 16 years ago. The Glen is the upscale retail and housing development on the grounds of the former Naval Air Station Glenview.
