Tower Crossing

Townhomes with lots of green space

July 19, 2020 by Margaret Ludemann

Hey city dwellers!  Want to keep the city feel, but escape the high concentration of people during Covid?  I have the perfect solution for you.  It’s called Tower Crossing in The Glen in Glenview, an upscale suburb of the Chicago metropolitan area.

Tower Crossing is a development with 154 large townhomes with significant green space.  Not only does it have its own large common areas, but it resides directly across Patriot Boulevard from a huge public park and lake, and it’s only a short walk to two outstanding golf courses.

You will still get the convenience of city living because no Tower Crossing home is more than a block from Glen Town Center which is filled with shops, restaurants, coffee shops and a movie theater.  It’s the best of both worlds.

There are several models of Tower Crossing homes and they range in size from 3031 square feet to 4105 square feet.  These are sizable homes.  And they are stunning!  All brick exteriors.  Georgian architecture.  High ceilings, striking wood floors, and luxurious amenities throughout.  Prices range from the $600s to $800s.

If you would like to learn more about city living in the suburbs, give me a call.  I am a knowledgeable Realtor and long time Tower Crossing homeowner.

The Glen Club in The Glen. Great golf, dining and lodging.

July 26, 2019 by Margaret Ludemann

Stunning!  That’s the view my husband and I had while dining at The Glen Club last weekend.  The club is in The Glen in Glenview, a development with luxury homes and an upscale retail area.  We ate on the patio and loved the serene and beautiful view of the course.

The Glen Club is well known and highly regarded. It’s an 18 hole championship course designed by the legendary Tom Fazio. The course is beautiful to look at and challenging to play. Golf Magazine has rated it the fourth best courses you can play in Illinois and among the Top 100 in the United States. When it opened in 2001 Sports Illustrated listed it as a top 10 new course. A stately 48,000 square feet clubhouse provides overnight lodging and first class dining. The club offers private corporate memberships, but it is also available to non-members.

Many Glen homes have great views of these picturesque golf courses. Fifty-five magnificent “estate” single family homes in the Southgate subdivision border The Glen Club’s course as do nine stunning townhomes in Tower Crossing. Several homes in the lovely Westgate and Patriot Commons neighborhoods also have great views.

If you are a golfer who may be interested in living in The Glen, please contact me for additional information. I am a long time Glen homeowner and an award winning Realtor.

Major Golf Tournament starts today in The Glen

May 20, 2019 by Margaret Ludemann

My husband and I walked over to The Glen Club for dinner last night.  It’s an easy walk, about half the length of a football field, from our Tower Crossing townhome, one of nine neighborhoods in The Glen.  I noticed banners announcing a major golf tournament, so asked about it in the clubhouse.  I learned that the new Evans Scholars Invitational Tournament begins today and runs through May 26.  This is a Web.com tour, and it is being managed by the Western Golf Association (WGA).

The Glen Club hosts major PGA tournaments including the BMW Championship each year, and they bring a lot of excitement to our neighborhood.  This award-winning club was designed by renowned golf course architect Tom Fazio.  The tournament will raise money for college tuition and housing scholarships for deserving caddies across the country.  Nearly 1000 Evans Scholars are currently enrolled at 18 universities.

The Glen Club is one of two golf courses in The Glen.  The other is the Glenview Prairie Club, a beautiful 9-hole course, also a short walk from most any home in The Glen.  The Westgate at The Glen residential neighborhood borders both clubs.  Golf is but one of the wonderful advantages of living in The Glen.  Our “main street”, called Glen Town Center boasts scores of terrific restaurants and upscale shops and boutiques.  Battery Park is also located in The Glen with a lake, walking and jogging trails, tennis courts and playgrounds.

This is an incredible place to live.  We have single family homes, townhomes, row homes, duplexes, two-flats and condos.  Home prices range from the $400s to over $2 million.  If this sounds like the kind of neighborhood you would enjoy living in, please give me a call.  I am an award-winning Realtor and long time Glen homeowner.

Cambridge at The Glen…all kinds of homes and prices

May 16, 2019 by Margaret Ludemann

The Glen is a residential and retail development in the beautiful North Shore village of Glenview.  It contains nine individual neighborhoods, built between 2001 and 2017 by different developers.  Cambridge at The Glen is one of those neighborhoods, and it has the most diversity of home styles.  Some Glen neighborhoods have only one home type.  For instance, the Landings and Chapel Crossing developments only have single family homes, and you’ll only find townhomes in Tower Crossing.  Still another neighborhood, Southgate, offers townhomes and single family homes.

On the other hand, Cambridge has single family homes, townhomes, row homes, duplexes and two-flats.  The range of home prices is also quite different from most of the other Glen neighborhoods, from the high $400s to $1 million.  You’ll find some row homes and two-flats in the $400s and $500s.  Single family homes can reach a seven figure price point.

In addition to the diversity and prices of Cambridge, there are other advantages to the neighborhood.  It is closest to The Glen’s Metra train station, an easy walk from any of its homes.  It is also very close to Glen Town Center, the crown jewel of The Glen.  It has wonderful restaurants, shops, a movie theater, bookstore, coffee shop and it even borders a Kohl Children’s Museum.  Cambridge’s proximity to Gallery Park is another advantage with its open spaces, jogging trails, lake and tennis courts.  And, it’s walking distance to two great golf courses, The Glen Club and Glenview Prairie Club.

So, no matter what kind of home you prefer, Cambridge at The Glen would be a great place to live.  If you would like to take a look, give me a call.

Tower Crossing in The Glen checks all the boxes

February 18, 2019 by Margaret Ludemann

Hiding under my desk I found a newspaper article about townhomes.  I cut it out of the paper a couple of months ago.  Must have slipped off my desk.  Anyway, the writer* offered four recommendations for townhome buyers.  As I read it again, it occurred to me that that The Glen’s Tower Crossing townhomes checked each of the four boxes.

#1        PLACE A PREMIUM ON LOCATION    CHECK, Tower Crossing is in The Glen, a residential and retail development in Glenview Illinois.  The development has its own “Main Street” with shops, restaurants, and cinema.  Glenview offers award-winning schools and its own train station getting you to downtown Chicago in a little over half an hour.

#2        LOOK FOR A TOWNHOME WITH AN EXPANSIVE INTERIOR    CHECK, there are six models of townhomes ranging in size from 3032 sq ft to 4105 sq ft.  That’s big!

#3        DON’T TRADE OFF PARKING    CHECK, each of the 154 townhomes in Tower Crossing has its own 2+ car garage.

#4        LOOK FOR A HARMONIOUS COMMUNITY    CHECK, I’ve lived in Tower Crossing for 16 years, and my neighborhood is the friendliest place I’ve ever lived.  We have cookouts, picnics, cocktail parties, holiday get-togethers and much more.

So, as you can see, Tower Crossing checks all the boxes.  We are a harmonious community of large townhomes with attached parking; and we are walking distance to retail and a Metra train station.  Plus, our kids attend among great schools.

If you’re interested in this kind of townhome living, give me a call.  I am an award-winning @properties Realtor and resident of this remarkable community.
